Robert had his 2 month well-baby check-up on 4/19. He now weighs 11 lb 13 oz, and is 23 1/4 inches long. The doctor said he looks healthy. He also got 4 immunizations. The poor little guy only cried for about a minute before he calmed down again.
Robert turned 2 months this week. He's starting to become more vocal. We have interesting conversations where he tells me all about "hewu" and "aga" and "aaa". Hewu seems to be his favorite word and it can have many meanings depending on his mood, such as "this is fun", "I'm hungry", or "pick me up". He's also exploring his fingers with his mouth a lot, as well as the fingers of any other hand he can grab. On monday he goes in for his 2 month well baby appointment.
Robert's first Easter was pretty much like any other day. He did however, have to suffer through getting his picture taken with a stuffed bunny. Doesn't he look thrilled?
Robbie is 7 weeks old as of Sunday. He has recently decided that he's getting too old for naptime during the day and fights going to sleep. He'll fall asleep in my arms, but wake up as soon as I put him in his bed. If I put him in the bed to begin with, he'll fight sleep and stay awake. That's why I've not had much time to update the website. He's finally taking a nap now, but it took me an hour of lying next to him and reading to him before he finally fell asleep.
We try to put Robert on his back and on his belly in his playmat a few times each day. When he's on his back he likes looking around at the toys above him and sometimes kicks one or hits one with his arm (probably accidentally). On his belly he lifts his head and even lifts his shoulders, supported by his arms. Today he had lifted himself to his shoulders (as in the picture) and then he rolled over to his back. I think it was accidental - he lost balance and fell over, rather than a conscious effort to roll over. He doesn't like being on his belly, so we only keep him there for a few minutes at a time.
