A big boy now

We bought Robbie a bigger car seat yesterday because he outgrew his baby one. It's a convertible car seat that he can now use for as long as he needs one (until 4 years old). Unfortunately it sits kind of upright and is not good for napping, and it's not removable like his previous one, so he can't fall asleep in the car and be carried in the car seat to the supermarket or restaurant. That means the days of planning shopping trips so he falls asleep on the way there are over. That's a shame because Robbie has decided in the past month or two that car trips over 15 minutes long are not fun and starts to fuss. So, getting him to nap in the car was a great way to avoid a grumpy baby during a car trip. Now the only way we can keep him from crying the entire trip is to sing lullabyes or for Jef to whistle. Fortunately most shops are pretty close so it doesn't get to that. It's just the longer trips to visit friends that are a problem.
