Robert's Ultrasound

This is the ultrasound. It was done at about 20 weeks on 10/14/2003. It was amazing being able to see him for the first time. I was suprised at how clearly we could see all of him. His heart, brain, spine and everything else checked out ok. We also checked for extra fingers or toes since that runs in my family. I was born with 6 fingers on one hand and 6 toes on both feet, but the baby didn't seem to have any extra ones. Even if he does, as the tech pointed out, it's always better to have too many than not enough because you can remove extra ones in an operation (which is what was done with me). The ultrasound tech also pointed out that it was definitely a boy. The baby was pretty active during the ultrasound. He kept trying to push and kick against the spot where the ultrasound device was. I don't think he liked it much.

It's a shame this will be our only ultrasound, I really loved seeing him in person. I wish I had a little window into my belly, or that humans were marsupials and could look at the babies growing in our little pouch. :)
